February $10,000 Endowment Challenge Reaches Halfway Mark!

Thursday, February 15th, 2018

Staff, patrons and donors are showing the Library some love by getting us closer to the goal of $10,000 for the February Endowment Challenge. Through private donations, sales of $1 hearts in the 10 branches to staff and visitors, ticket sales for a Feb. 23 wine tasting and a gift basket raffle in the branches, we’ve collected $6,251.88 in donations.

We’re halfway there, but February is also half over. Can you help? Click the Donate Today button at the right hand corner of this page or send a check to The Library Foundation, 4653 S. Campbell Ave., Springfield, MO 65810. Questions? Call Melissa at 417-616-0586.

Your gift to the Library is worth more right now. If we raise $10,000 by February 28, Community Foundation of the Ozarks will contribute another $5,000 to the Laton Endowment. This is an unrestricted endowment that provides a new, sustainable source of income for the Library, which will enable us to do more for the community.

If you love your Library, please make a donation today!

Let’s Make a Match! Help the Foundation Raise $10,000 in February for a New Endowment that Will Work for You!

Thursday, February 1st, 2018

Development Director Melissa Adler

How do I love the Library? Let me count the ways. If you’re like me, the list is long. First on my list is the sense of community I feel every time I walk into one of our ten Library branches or board the Mobile Library. Second is the anticipation that comes from discovery.

February is for Library lovers and this month is the perfect time to show your Library some love. From now through February 28, the Library has been challenged to raise $10,000 for the Library’s Laton Endowment, which is an unrestricted fund held at Community Foundation of the Ozarks. If we meet the $10,000 goal, CFO will contribute another $5,000 to the Library’s fund.

The Laton Endowment will provide new, sustainable income for the Library. It will enable the Library to do more for you, the Library patron. Building this endowment will allow us to make purchases every year that aren’t covered by property tax dollars. As the endowment grows, so will usable income from the earnings. The current balance of the endowment is $476,000. We’re working to reach a half million.

Through the month of February, The Library Foundation will host a variety of fundraisers that the public can join in to help us meet our $10,000 goal. Click here for a complete list of activities. You can make a tax-deductible donation from this page by clicking the Donate Today button above The Library Foundation page.

Any gift to the Library in February is worth more because of the match challenge. And, a gift to the Laton Endowment is forever. It’s a gift that keeps giving and helps secure the future of the Library. Let’s make a match!
