Your Neighborhood Library is Open!

We cut the ribbon on Saturday, Jan. 7, and formally reopened the Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library!

On the “ribbon line” were Library Trustee Michelle Risdal-Barnes, Branch Manager Jeana Gockley, the branch namesake and benefactor Jewell Schweitzer, Library District Executive Director Regina Greer Cooper and Springfield Mayor Bob Stephens.

More than 2,000 people attended the opening day events — be sure to drop by soon!

Reopening Saturday, Jan. 7!

It’s the day you’ve been waiting for — the renamed, renovated Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library reopens at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7. Come for the thank-yous and brief remarks at 10 a.m. in the community room (enter at the south doors), then we’ll walk outside to the front doors for the official ribbon cutting and head inside. Check out all the cool spaces, find your favorite and enjoy your visit! At 3:30 p.m. Dallas Jones will perform a free concert for all ages in the community room.
