A Greener Outlook for All

Friday, October 28th, 2016

The Schweitzer Brentwood Branch, due to open in January 2017, will help set the pace for a greener environment with a design that meets the highest industry standards. Our goal is to create an environmentally responsible building.dscn0460 Materials, lighting and energy conservation choices are based on the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED certification program,or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. During renovation of the branch, over 85 percent of waste from deconstruction, clearing and rebuilding is being recycled. We’re increasing use of daylight inside while reducing nighttime light pollution outside. Carpet tiles and countertops, among other things, include recycled content. A new mechanical system will offer at least a 30 percent energy efficiency rating. A smarter, more energy-efficient lighting system will also help manage operational costs in the future. We can’t wait to show you how Schweitzer Brentwood Branch is creating a greener outlook for all.
